Your character will re-trace his steps and the dash again in the original direction. For PG and SF, with the “double fake” skill, you can stutter and go the original direction by tapping the same direction instead of the opposite one really quickly. This makes it even more likely to break your defender's ankles. Your original dash animation will be canceled, and your character will retrace his steps to the original position and dash to the other side quickly. For all non-C, you can fake one direction and go the other direction by pushing the opposite direction immediately after you start to dash. Otherwise, this is useful for getting past a defender and if done right can break a defender's ankles. If you end up dashing into something, you will most likely lose the ball. During the pause, you may lose the ball if an opponent defends you closely. If you hold left or right and push this button, you will first pause for a second, then dash quickly in that direction. This can be useful to avoid steals (yes, the side the ball is on does affect steal %). When you have the ball, pushing this button does a standing crossover, switching your dribbling hand (you are ambidextrous). When you your teammates have the ball, this button does nothing. This button is referred to as “quickstep”, “dash”, or “juke” depending on who you're talking to This is useful to face the basket before a shot. If you are holding the ball, directional buttons help you pivot. Walking over the ball automatically picks up the ball for your character.

Generally do not hold the ball too long or it will be stolen. The longer you hold the ball, the more vulnerable you are to being stolen from. If you are dribbling, you move slower than if you are not dribbling. If you move into someone who is in face-up or box-out position, you are even more likely to fall down If you move into someone who is standing still, you may fall down You can hold two directions to move diagonally. Even somewhat experienced players may learn a thing or two. For a simplistic looking game, this game is actrually rather deep and this guide will hopefully clear many things up for new players. I'd also appreciate a sticky so those who are new to the community can see this first when they come to the General Forums and not get too discouraged by being completely destroyed without knowing what's going on. I will edit it when I get a chance with your suggestions.
